Early Childhood Faculty

All lead teachers, including PreK teachers, are degreed and certified or pending certification. Many faculty members also hold Masters Degrees.

PreK3 Lead Teacher

Brooke Busch

Brooke Busch is starting her 1st year at SSES! She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut and Master’s Degree from the American Military University- Homeland Security.  While in the Army, she was a Counter Intelligence Special Agent with Chinese language and received the Bronze Star Medal.  She played softball in college and was the 1996 NCAA Scholar Athlete. She enjoys reading, crafting and animals.

PreK3 Teaching Assistant

Kristina Fleming

Kristina Fleming is beginning her first year at SSES.  She has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas in French and Spanish and previously taught at Leander and Austin school districts for 4 years.  She then home schooled her children until she joined SSES.  She is fluent in French and has lived in France, and enjoys yoga, hiking, gardening and chickens!  Her favorite thing about SSES is that it is a “welcoming and beautiful place for learning and growth.”

PreK4 Lead Teacher

Robin Weeks

Robin Weeks was named Wimberley’s Teacher of the Year in 2017 and is beginning her 5th year at SSES!  She grew up in Wimberley and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  She stays busy crafting, camping, playing softball and is preparing her daughter to start high school this year.  Her favorite thing about SSES is the loving, family environment.

Debbie Boxley

Debbie Boxley has been a faculty member since 1990 and is the School’s institutional memory. She supports PreK and our Lower School grades with a focus on Kindergarten through 2nd Grade.

"I demand a lot of respect and am a disciplinarian, but in a very loving manner!  I want the children to love learning and want to come to school.  Learning should always be fun!"

Haley Thibodeaux

This is Haley Thibodeaux’s 8th year at SSES and 11th teaching.  Her Bachelor’s Degree is in Early Childhood Education.  She loves to act and sing as a performer as well as photography and swimming.  Her favorite part about teaching at SSES is “that we treat each other with kindness and love.”

Tracey Dugger

Tracey Dugger is beginning her 5th year at SSES, making that a total of 18 years teaching.  She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.  In 1999, she was Teacher of the Year while at Pasadena ISD and 2012-2013 at Humble ISD.  She began college at 16 years old and loves that SSES is a “great place to foster a love for learning and discovery” in children.  A favorite quote is “Mistakes are proof you are trying.”

Preslee Whitman

Preslee Whitman is a Wimberley native, an SSES alumni and this is her 4th year teaching at SSES!  She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Texas State University and was Wimberley’s Teacher of the Year for 2017.  In her spare time, she enjoys softball, running, sports, restoring furniture and she was married this past summer!  Her favorite thing about SSES is that it is “such a great, supportive community of parents, students and teachers.”

Yvonne Lewis

Yvonne Lewis has been teaching since 2003 and joined SSES in 2015.  Her Bachelor’s Degree is from Texas State University.  Before becoming a teacher, she was the Assistant Director for Sylvan Learning center.  She enjoys the “peaceful atmosphere, loving teachers and incredible students at SSES.”  In her free time, she loves going to the beach, taking evening walks around her neighborhood, and spending time with her family.  A favorite quote is “When you get, give.  When you learn, teach.”

Cori Mitchell

Cori Mitchell is beginning her 1st year at SSES.  She graduated from Texas A & M summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  She previously taught at Regents School of Austin and is joining SSES after staying home with her 3 boys.  She enjoys “the family atmosphere at SSES and being surrounded by God’s beautiful creation every time I walk outside of my classroom.”

Michael Stafford

This is Michael Stafford’s 2nd year at SSES and his 5th year teaching. He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and still enjoys studying history.  His hobbies include cooking, carpentry and working on cars.  He enjoys the “beautiful, friendly, relaxed environment” at SSES and a quote he embraces is “Wake up determined. Go to bed satisfied.”

Music/Kindergarten Assistant/Chapel Coordinator/Spiritual Formation & Growth

Anne Jones

Anne Jones is starting her 10th year at SSES and 18th overall.  Her Bachelor’s Degree in Music is from The University of Texas and her Kodaly Certification from Texas State University.  She loves to cook, is a black belt in karate and believes that “If you can speak, you can sing.  If you can walk, you can dance.”  She likes that at SSES “We’re family!”

Studio Art

Leslie Williams

This is Leslie Williams’ second year at SSES after spending 31 years in public education, primarily with Wimberley ISD.  She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Texas State University.  She enjoys travel and recently went museum hopping in Amsterdam and France and especially liked the impressionist artwork at the d’Orsay Museum in France.  She loves that at SSES the “teachers, administrators, staff, and parents work together to provide a positive, loving, and kind environment for students to learn” and “the variety of special celebrations.”  A favorite scripture is: Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do and he will direct your path. Proverbs 3: 5-6

Physical Education

Sandra Herrera

This is Sandra Herrera’s 6th year at SSES.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Spanish and a Master’s Degree in Business.   She leads an active life filled with water activities and especially enjoys the nature trails at SSES to refresh and connect with nature.

A favorite scripture of hers is: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Extended Care Coordinator

Paola Collins

Paola Collins is beginning her second year at SSES.  She studied applied science and enjoys painting and going to the beach with her family.  She is a mother, fire wife, personal trainer, chef, and artist.  Her varied interests and artistic abilities make her a perfect fit for extended care! She is happy to be at SSES because “Everyone is SO NICE!”  A favorite quote is “Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are your seeds.  You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.”

Marsha Acock:  Head of School

This is Marsha Acock's sixth year as Head of School at St. Stephen’s. She holds a BA with Honors in History and Government from the University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law. She served as Middle School Head at St. James Episcopal School in Corpus Christi for 7 years and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Charitable Trusts Section for 12 years prior to returning to education.

Vickie Johnson:  Office Manager

Vickie Johnson has been at St. Stephen’s since January 2013.  Vickie has served in numerous roles in various business settings during her career and brings a servant’s heart to this position—which includes bookkeeping duties and overseeing the Health Room.   


Brad McClusky: Facilities Director

Brad McClusky joined St. Stephen's last year following a career in the security systems industry. Brad oversees the facility and grounds.
